On hole 4 (East Course) there is a dreaded area of doom and destruction that has been labeled “The Valley of Death” by the players who have played demo rounds.
The valley has a stream that runs through it and right now it has been allowed to over grow with the most diabolical sticker bushes. Pain, heartache, turmoil, dread, despair and actual blood flows by any player that is unfortunate enough to land in this area.
Turns out. It’s really easy to end up there and no one wants to have to give blood to just get their disc back. I agree with the feedback from the test players.
Remove Invasive Overgrowth on Hole 4
On Sunday May 3, 2020:
- Start time 9a
- End time noon
- You will need boots for water, gloves, eye protection, cutting tools, long pants and probably long sleeves of some sort.
We are going to be working in the area circled on the image below.
The stream is below the tee pad and very overgrown with vegetation.
Preview of the Work
So there are no surprises for anyone who volunteers for this mission. We’re going to be working in and around a stream with water running through it. The stream bank is a bit high and the growth is very thick.
You will probably get stuck many times by the very thorny growth and I assume there will be many curse words uttered during the process. You may question your decision making skills and wonder why you ever agreed to do this in the first place.
I will guarantee that you are going to feel a major sense of accomplishment and pride when we are done with the clean-up.
How Can I Volunteer to Help?
Use the “Contact Form” right here on the website to let me know you want to be added to the volunteer list. That’s it and it will get you started with us all on the journey to build West Winds Disc Golf course.
Thank you all in advance for your help, time and energy. It is so greatly appreciated.
